Potomac Highlands Doubles Championship

In late May, the first World League FlingGolf DOUBLES ONLY EVENT will be held at the historic 9-hole golf course at Capon Springs and Farms. This all-inclusive resort has been owned and operated for generations by the family of 2x WLF Masters Champion "AquaJon" Jonathan Bellingham and was the site of the first WLF regional event in 2023 and the first 4-person team event in 2024.  This will be a unique experience with both fun and highly competitive aspects.  All abilities welcome.

The presenting sponsor, Lost Barrel Brewery will provide $6,000 in total prize money for the doubles tourney to be shared with both the Women's/Co-Ed and Men’s divisions.  FlingForAll, a WV business training the next generation of youth with middle and high school PE instruction and recreation clubs, will also provide a total payout of $600 for the separate PRO-AM tourney. Monetary prizes will be given out in cash at the awards ceremonies.   Additional goodies and random drawings will also be distributed!

With everyone staying at one place, eating all meals together and enjoying resort facilities, there will be unprecedented time spent with the greatest community in sports. (Note: alternative off-site housing options available with day pass add-ons available)

Additional Notes:

  • As typical in WLF Doubles tournament, the Potomac Highlands Doubles Tournament will have two divisions: 1) Men's, for any all-men teams, including Masters, and 2) WCE (Women's/Co-Ed) which is any team with a Women's player, including co-ed teams with either a player from the Men's or Masters division. There will be separate tees for players that are in the Men's, Women's and Masters divisions.
  • The Doubles Tournament will be comprised of Team Scramble (Sat) and Team Alternate Shot (Sun) with scores combined to determine the ultimate winner in each division so you will have the same partner both days  (see Tournament Formats for more details).
  • The PRO-AM on Saturday will have a separate winner (and you will have a different partner)
  • There will be NO Reggies used in this tournament.  Previous notes had said that they were being used for the alternate shot tournament, but we wanted to keep things consistent throughout the weekend.
  • Results of this tournament will count towards the season-long Super Regions Competition (point details to be announced)
  • You do not have to have a partner to enter the tournament.  You will be given the opportunity to pick your partner on the registration form, but one will be assigned to you (likely from your Super Region) if you do not indicate a preference.
